What data we collect
- Order data — name, address, email, phone (optional) for processing and shipping.
- Payment data — processed via Mollie (PCI-DSS compliant). We do not store card numbers.
- Account data — only if you create an account: email + hashed password + order history.
- Analytics — anonymous page views via Plausible (privacy-first, no cookies, no tracking).
Why we collect it
- Processing, shipping, and invoicing your order (legal basis: performance of contract).
- Providing customer service (legal basis: legitimate interest).
- Sending newsletters (only after explicit opt-in, always unsubscribable).
How long we retain it
Order data: 7 years (statutory retention period for tax purposes). Account data: until you delete your account. Newsletter subscription: until you unsubscribe. Analytics: aggregated, no personal data.
Third parties we share with
- Mollie — payment processing (NL).
- PostNL / bpost — shipping (NL/BE).
- Resend — transactional email (US, EU-compliant under SCC).
- Supabase — database hosting (EU region).
- Netlify — website hosting (EU edge).
We never sell personal data to third parties for marketing purposes.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to: access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection. Send an email to info@thebarakahlab.nl — we respond within 14 days. You may also lodge a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).
