Idhā māta-l-insānu inqaṭaʿa ʿanhu ʿamaluhu illā min thalāthah
When a person dies, their deeds end — except in three: ongoing sadaqah, knowledge that benefits, or a righteous child who supplicates for them.

No misfortune befalls a Muslim except that Allāh expiates some of his sins through it — even a thorn that pricks him.

Kalimatāni khafīfatāni ʿalā-l-lisān, thaqīlatāni fī-l-mīzān
Two words light on the tongue, heavy on the scale, beloved to the Most Merciful: "Subḥān-Allāhi wa-bi-ḥamdihi, Subḥān-Allāhi-l-ʿaẓīm".

Ṣiyāmu yawmi ʿArafata aḥtasibu ʿalā-Llāhi an yukaffira-s-sanata-llatī qablahu wa-s-sanata-llatī baʿdah
Fasting on the Day of ʿArafah — I hope from Allāh that it expiates the sins of the year before and the year after.

Inna-Llāha lā yanẓuru ilā ṣuwarikum wa amwālikum, wa-lākin yanẓuru ilā qulūbikum wa aʿmālikum
Allāh does not look at your appearances or your wealth; rather, He looks at your hearts and your deeds.

Al-wālidu awsaṭu abwābi-l-jannah, fa-in shiʾta fa-aḍiʿ dhālika-l-bāba aw-iḥfaẓh
The parent is the middle gate of Paradise. If you wish, lose that gate, or guard it.

Ittaqi-Llāha ḥaythumā kunt, wa atbiʿi-s-sayyiʾata-l-ḥasanata tamḥuhā, wa khāliqi-n-nāsa bi-khuluqin ḥasan
Fear Allāh wherever you are; follow a bad deed with a good deed to wipe it out; and treat people with good character.

Aṣ-ṣalawātu-l-khamsu, wal-Jumʿatu ilā-l-Jumʿah, wa Ramaḍānu ilā Ramaḍān, mukaffirātun li-mā baynahunn
The five daily prayers, Jumuʿah to Jumuʿah and Ramadan to Ramadan are expiations for what is between them — as long as major sins are avoided.

Whoever takes a path seeking knowledge, Allāh makes a path to Paradise easy for them.

Whoever recites Sūrah al-Kahf on the Day of Jumuʿah, nūr (light) shines for them between this Jumuʿah and the next.

The most beloved prayer to Allāh is the prayer of Dāwūd (ʿalayhi as-salām): he slept half the night, stood for a third, and slept again for a sixth.

Idhā dakhalta ʿalā marīḍin fa-murhu an yadʿuwa lak, fa-inna duʿāʾahu ka-duʿāʾi-l-malāʾikah
When you visit a sick person, ask them to supplicate for you — for their duʿāʾ is like the duʿāʾ of the angels.
